Overland Park Kitchen Remodel and Furnishing

Kitchen - After

My client, an active family of six, came to Design Connection, Inc. wanting to update their main floor furniture after living in their home for more 15 years the clients realized were not utilizing and benefiting from all of the space on their first floor. After meeting with the family and understanding their needs and wants, it became apparent that they required more than updated furniture. The client wanted to make their entire main floor flow and become one space for the entire family to enjoy.

The kitchen layout worked nicely and the cabinets were in great shape. The golden oak was tired and needed a change. Arlene Ladegaard principal designer was well versed in cabinet color changes and how they made the old tired cabinets look new. The other idea was to change out the old glass panel fronts to a plain style that matched the other doors.

The clients were clear they did not want white painted cabinets and wanted them in a rich dark brown coffee bean color. The other change was the island. It was painted a wonderful color of dark gray to compliment the white and gray quartz countertops. A light gray subway tile in a herringbone pattern was chosen to add interest and tie the whole room together. It was a wow!

The clients love their new appliances in a dark slate finish. Their favorite is a new induction cooktop.

Design Connection, Inc. provided: space planning, countertops, tile and stone, light fixtures, custom furniture, painting, hardwood floors and all other installations and as well project management.
