Question: What are the benefits of purchasing my furniture from an interior designer?

I get asked this question frequently. Perspective clients view my portfolio on line and love the rooms that I have furnished. We have furnished these spaces from our sources all over the country. Yes, many of them are very different from what you will find in the furniture stores in Kansas City. We buy direct from our many manufactures at direct pricing and therefore we are able to pass saving onto our clients. Some lines we carry are exclusive to this area.

Every one of our projects has a professional space plan that shows the size and scale of each piece and how it functions in the room. Design Connection Inc. is the only Overland Park residential interior design firm with an on staff architect. We make sure that all the furniture pieces fit and function for what you want in your home.

There are common mistakes that many people make when selecting furniture. Our job is to educate our clients on furniture selection and take the time to ensure that the rooms we create for them are what they want. With more than 30 years in the interior design field I can get it right the first time and can do it fast and efficiently.

My personal style is classic and timeless. I believe it is a mistake to select furniture based on current trends or fads, which become outdated quickly. Most furniture stores must shift their stock every few months and therefore reflect the mood of the season and year. Good design is timeless and does not suggest the date of purchase. I help my clients create the style just for them.
